Micro-organisms are ubiquitous in nature. Quality and shelf life of any product depends on the type of packaging, shelf life, presence and nature of micro-organisms contained in a particular product. Under favourable conditions microorganisms present proliferate and result in loss of product quality. Microbiological monitoring is an essential part of quality control where Lucid labs helps product evaluation / testing and certification.

Antimicrobial efficacy of Water Purifiers and Nanotechnology based devices/filters: Water purifiers (based on UV-disinfection, ozonization, ion exchange and membrane filtration) and water filters are checked for antimicrobial efficacy against number of challenge organisms like E.coli, Salmonella, Shigella, Vibrio, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Micrococcus luteus. Similarly filters like candle filters based on nanotechnology are also evaluated for their efficacy in removal of microorganisms. Nanotechnology based water purifiers may show efficacy even while working on nano scale(one billionth).
Industrial / Consumer /Pharmaceutical /Herbal /Cosmetic products are evaluated for antimicrobial effectiveness as per EN/ASTM/USP/EP procedures. Challenge micro-organisms include gram positive and gram negative bacteria, spore formers, yeast and molds.
The Phenolic and non-phenolic type disinfectants are tested for their germicidal value as per National and International standards.
